Time to Renew
|
 |
Yes, we know it seems just like yesterday that you sent your membership application in.
But our membership year runs from June 1 to May 31, so come the month of June, all memberships not paid between March 1 and May 31, 2008 will become inactive.
No need to tell you about all the great benefits you would be missing out on - just look
throughout this issue and see the huge variety of events planned for the upcoming year!

Leaders and Web
|
 |
We have a number of trip leader applications, but
we are still actively seeking volunteers to run some
of our winter ski trips. This is a great way to get
involved in the Club, have loads of fun and get a
free (well, sort of) ski trip out of it! We have some
awesome destinations lined up, and need people to
make these trips into experiences that will keep our
members coming back for more, year after year. If
you would like to give it a try, please contact our current
VP of trips, Dave Hartman at vp@miamiskiclub.net. Look forward to hearing from you!
For a few months now, we have had an issue that
really requires our attention. Our webmaster suddenly
left and we have not had anyone take over
that position. Frank Sandmaier (our former webmaster)
has been kind enough to keep the basic
on the web site current, but this is only a temporary
solution. Are we going to have to shut down
the web site, just because no one in our membership
is willing to spend a few hours a month? If
you have any web skills at all, please let us know
and get involved!. |

Empire Tour
June 3 - 17, 2009 (proposed dates)
June 17 - 21 Czech Republic extension
|
Everyone’s been asking about this trip, and here we
are, laying it out and making reservations! We call this
the Austro-Hungarian Empire Tour, as we will start
with a few days in Budapest (Hungary), then board a
luxury boat and cruise down the Danube to Bratislava
(Slovakia), then stop in Vienna (Austria) for a couple
of days before continuing on the river to Passau
(Germany) and then on to the highlight of the trip,
Prague. For those who really want to get the most out
of this tour, we will offer an extension in the Czech
Republic, see some medieval cities, tour a few castles
and visit gorgeous sites outside of the city.
This trip will be limited to a small number of travelers,
as we are trying to make it fairly exclusive and
as intimate as possible. We’ll be seeking out some
smaller hotels with local flavor, cozy restaurants
and out of the way places. We are still in the early
stages of planning, but if you are interested or have
some thoughts, please drop an e-mail to George at
EmpireTour@miamiskiclub.net. |
