What is the Miami Ski Club?
The Miami Ski Club was founded in 1968 to promote the sport of snow skiing and to have fun year round. We are an active social club, a travel club, an outdoor club, a cultural club and above all - a fun club!
"a social club for all seasons"

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

September, 2010

Pam EpsteinHi all,

This is the morning after our Sunset snorkel sail in Key Largo. It was a divine evening of snorkeling, a lovely sunset, champagne and new friendships. Barbara, Melissa, Glenn, Jonathan, Fariba, Chris and Debra, it was a pleasure having you and we hope to see a lot more of you. Is everyone ready for autumn’s cool weather and holiday shopping season to begin? September brings that new hustle bustle feeling in the air. Monthly Dine-a-rounds with H. Allen Benowitz start up again and the Snowball event is September 24; do not miss this rocking dance hat party. A $10 admission in advance please. (See flyer) Ski trip leaders will be set up so bring your checkbooks to sign up for a ski trip and also to take part in our 50/50 raffle. I’m really excited about our Key West Fantasy Fest day for Halloween but, body painting is out for me this year, guys! If you are sitting at your computer, go to www.miamiskiclub.com and click on Facebook. Join Face book, become a friend or just check us out. I appreciate all of you bringing friends to events as well. Astrid Matthysse, Bud Clark, Anna Oaten and Lori St. John brought us new members this summer. Thank you so much! If I missed someone let me know. New members Andrew Hall and Edith Patterson found us on the GablesHomepage.com event listing, attended a happy hour and joined. What’s not to like about MSC, we are surely the friendliest bunch of people around. We are active, unique, energetic, up for anything and FUN! Come to a Happy Hour to meet us and follow a group that dines together after the event. My sister attended a MSC dinner at my home. She could not stop commenting on how welcoming and friendly everyone was. She never met a group like us. Jo Rauch is doing a great job setting up and updating our website. We are working on more photo links, looking into PayPal, advertising on our website, Twitter, MSC T-shirts or other logo items to order, different events and trips to offer you all. If you have any thoughts or ideas, let us know. We want to grow as a club, not only in attendance but in success as a Ski Club, social club and travel club. Know any friends that just moved to Miami, invite them to an event. More updates will follow regarding our Alaskan Cruise July 22-29 2011 in the October Newsletter. We have gotten bids but need to set up a nice package to present to you. How many MSC Ski Trips have you been on in the past 10 years, since 2000? How many of George Ondricek's exotic trips have you been on in the past 10 years, since 2000? This does not include party package, only full MSC ski trips please. E-mail me and see where this leads. Once again I’ve enjoyed another month as your Miami Ski Club President, thanks to a dedicated Board and great members like you.

Live, Love, Laugh

WE NEED YOU!

Members, we need your help . We need volunteers on the Board of Directors to maintain the strength and continuity of the MSC. We need a new editor of our monthly Newsletter Publication which has been circulated to our membership for the past ten years by the same gracious editor. We need a Photographer to capture our Snowball and Social events. These photos will be posted on our website and facebook page, documenting the fun and comaraderie of the MSC for the enjoyment of us all. Enthusiastic volunteers for these positions will enhance and influence the future of the Miami Ski Club. Your help is greatly appreciated. Please contact us at president@miamiskiclub.net.
